GENDER IN SPORT?
Support A1+!As known, only 2 sportswomen were enrolled in the Armenian delegation for the Olympic Games in Athens. They partook in the games thanks to the additional places set by World Olympic Committee. In fact, we had nothing to expect from female sport but as usual women win almost the half of Olympic medals.
Referring to our question regarding this fact, Ishkhan Zaqaryan, Chairman of Armenia’s Sport Committee and Olympic Committee, said in the history of our sport women have always achieved modest successes and it is a national problem somehow. “It is a first time I am asked such a question. It is interesting”, Zaqaryan said confessing that the organization he heads and he himself don’t treat women’ sport seriously.
