TOURNAMENT IN HOVHANNESS SAHAKYAN’S MEMORY IN KHARKOV

Under the initiative of Samvel Khandamiryan, ex free-style wrestler, now businessman and the head of the Armenian Commune in Kharkov, a tournament in the memory of Hovhanness Sahakyan, the repeated champion of free-style wrestling of the Soviet championships, was organized in Kharkov.

Wrestlers from Georgia, Byelorussia, Moldova, Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and 3 wrestlers from Armenia took part in the tournament.

In 66 kg weight Suren Markosyan won the 3rd place. Lernik Hovakimyan was the 4th in 60 kg weight and Avetiq Vardanyan was the 5th in 55 kg weight.
