THE EUROPEAN FERTILIZERS ARE NOT FOR THE ARMENIAN VILLAGERS

Regions

1450 tons of fertilizers have been allotted to the Shirak region by the state Government, 700 tons more is anticipated. But the demand in the region is much higher. According to Raffi Vardzelyan, chief expert of the village administration, 15-20 thousand tons are needed.

If years ago the fertilizers were imported from Azerbaijan, now they can be imported from the European countries only, which is an expensive treat for the Armenian villager, 1 ton of the fertilizer costs 30-40 thousand drams. According to Raffi Vardzelyan, the absence of the fertilizers affects not only the quantity, but also the quality of the harvest.

On the whole, according to the TV company «Tsayg», this year the villagers are provided with seeds. Only in 15-20 communities suffered from last year's hail there is a shortage of seeds which will be filled on account of the surplus of the seeds from other communities.
