The Yezidi girls marry early, at the age of 14-15. According to the law, this is a violation of the marriage age. The age of 18 is set as the age for marriage both for men and women by the Family code. Not all Yezidis, however, admit that early marriage is a Yezidi tradition. They say there are many Yezidi girls who choose not to marry, but to get higher education. How can the Yezidis' early marriage and the 12-year compulsory education be combined?
