NA discusses amnesty of fines for number of administrative offenses

On the first day of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly, Justice Minister Artak Zeynalian presented the draft law on amnesty of fines for a number of administrative offenses. "According to the draft law, in relation to drivers who committed an administrative offense in the period from 2012 to December 31, 2017, inclusive, it is necessary to apply amnesty. Amnesty for those offenses after which no criminal cases were initiated. About 150 thousand people will be released from administrative responsibility," said the Minister of Justice. MP Alen Simonyan reacted by saying that those people would not pay anyway, because they were insolvent and urged the minister to extend the amnesty term. "After all, we are doing a good deed. I propose to extend the period, if possible," said Alen Simonyan. MP from Tsarukyan Alliance Vahe Enfiadjyan noted that he welcomed the initiative, the term should be extended, since most of our population has loans that they cannot pay. Artak Zeynalyan noted that the extension of the term was repeatedly discussed and the best option was chosen. "The term until December 31, 2017, inclusive is the best option."
