In the center of the cultural capital of Goris, there is an appetizing scent of kebab. Next to the pickle of radishes, beets and garlic - Goris honey and dolma made of grape leaves seem to enter into competition with appetizers decorated in European style, placed in baskets. Among the proud rows of famous vodka from mulberry, cornel and plum, there was no shortage of cognac and wine, which were complemented by mountains of fruits, dried fruits and Italian sweets. These beautifully decorated tables full of delicacies waited for their guests who came to the city from the CIS countries to honor them with traditional dishes. As they say, the best way to get to know people is the culture of their kitchen. Along with the Goris traditional dishes, red and black caviar, smeared with French baguette, had their royal place on the table. Well, does it matter that these are not traditional dishes? Let the guests know that for the hospitable Goris people to treat the guest with "the most delicious piece" is a traditional culture that goes back to the depths of centuries. We met the 90-year-old Goar at the gate of the house. She went out to find out whose luxury car was parked outside her house. They asked about traditional Goris dishes and traditional ways of cooking, she gladly told about khashil, pokhindz, famous beans, aveluk and soup from choratan and about the peculiarities of the kitchen, which her mother tought her. The conversation smoothly passed to the topic of her birthplace - to her beloved Goris and Goris residents, who are as proud as their mountains. She remembered her husband - the headmaster of the school and the happy years spent with him. Her daughter, grandchildren live in Yerevan, one of the grandchildren is in Holland, and Goar herself cannot live without her own Goris. Although her relatives are against, she returns home every summer and after hearing the story of Gohar's past, told in a warm voice, with a kind and pure smile, we realized that this smile and speech should be stored, cherished and passsed as the most important cultural heritage.
