On May 12, it was the birthday of Edward Mirzoyan, the People's Artist of the USSR. The opening ceremony of the monument dedicated to his 97th birthday was held at the Dilijan Composers' Creative House after Edward Mirzoyan. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Union of Composers of Armenia Aram Satyan, composers Martin Vardazaryan, Vardan Achemyan, Yervand Yerznkyan and other prominent cultural figures of Armenia. Officers of the municipality, council members and representatives of the republican mass media were present at the event. Edward Mirzoyan's widow, Mrs. Heghine, son, surgeon Arshak Mirzoyan delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the memorial, telling interesting devotees about the life of the great composer, especially about his efforts of opening composers' house in Dilijan.
