MAKEYAN WITHDRAWS FROM RACE IN PROTEST - MATILYAN WINS BY-ELECTION

Social

“Dashnaktsutyun” parliamentary fraction was supplemented with one more MP. The only candidate for a National Assembly seat, “Dashnaktsutyun” party activist Hakob Matilyan, won by-election in 67th polling station on July 14.

It should be reminded, that by-election in the same polling station has been held in May. That time Matilyan became a winner. However, his rival, Democratic Motherland” party member Vardan Makeyan, made a claim against him and ballot results were announced invalid by Constitutional Court. The Court found numerous election irregularities made in favour of Matilyan. Meanwhile, Makeyan withdrew from the race to prove that totalitarian regime is being set in Armenia. A single candidate will run for elections in Armenia soon, which, for certain, destined to be elected.
