Yerkir Tsirani demands to restore Gevorg Safaryan's violated rights
Statement on Violence in Armenian prisons On November 16, 2017, Gevorg Safaryan, who was imprisned for his political views, was subjected to violence in his cell of Nubarashen penitentiary. The European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (Article 3) provides for the prevention of torture, no one should be subjected to torture, inhuman, degrading treatment or punishment. However, once again we see that the illegal regime in Armenia does not guarantee the realization of fundamental human rights and freedoms. Yerkir Tsirani party strongly condemns the use of violence against Gevorg Safaryan and demands to restore his violated rights. The "Yerkir Tsirani" party also calls on all those concerned about the security of Gevorg Safaryan and many other political prisoners and who want to establish justice, to rise the issue of violence against political prisoners and assist them in their release.
