For the third time, the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and Armenian State Jazz Orchestras will present the jazz version of Aram Khachaturian's works within the framework of  “Khachaturian meets jazz” program, which will be performed by Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Armen Hyusnunts, Martin Ulikhanyan and Andranik Berberyan. The soloists are Vahagn Hayrapetyan and Armen Hyusnunts. Sergei Smbatyan and Armen Hyusnunts were convinced that this project proved that it had the right to exist even though it could be criticized by some. "This is not the first collaboration," says Armen Hyusnunts, “every time as new instruments are being added, these melodies become more harmonious that it seems that they were originally written like this.” “We are looking for something else, without valuing what WE have. Having a composer like Aram Khachaturian, who wrote anthem for us, we are looking for someone else today, shame on us!” The program will also include pieces from “Gayane”, “Spartacus” Ballets, “Masquerade” Drama. Vahagn Hayrapetyan is convince that the project should have its continuation as well as other staff can be included, for example, folk instruments because these instruments are the “taste” and “smell” of our music. “This is an innovative project,” Vahagn Hayrapetyan said. “Khachaturian was not only ours but the whole word’s. Thus, this project should be presented to all over the world.” According to the author of the idea, Sergey Smbatyan, this project is going to be presented on Aram Khachaturian's 115th anniversary next year, on international stages.
