“We take with understanding all the problems Armenian faces today. However torture and inhuman treatment are intolerable”, Andres Lehtmetz, the Second Deputy Chairman of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, said expressing his attitude. ECPT representatives are to explain the commission methods of work to the officers of various Armenian ministries as well as public organisations’ activists at the meeting scheduled for July 10, 11. The European convention on maltreatment and torture prevention was signed by CE’s 43 member countries, including Armenia.
