"ArmOil" representative of "Lubrex" trademark in Armenia does not fulfill the decision of the RA Nature Protection Ministry and the Entrails Inspection Body on the nature protection, and continues the construction of the oil refining factory in Eghvard, EcoLur reports. On October 24, the inspection body decided to stop the construction of the plant. It turned out that the company is building an oil refinery without any environmental expertise. "ArmOil" was obliged to carry out a strategic assessment of the effects on the environment and to carry out the expertise. On October 27, EcoLur was informed that the construction was going on. "Decision on stopping the construction was made, and it was still going on. If they built the factory in not a residential area we would support it, but they are building it in our district. We are not aware of all the risks, but we understand that it is dangerous, especially from the perspective of explosions," said a resident of Nati district in Yeghvard to EcoLur. It should be noted that according to the RA Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise, oil refining production is subject to expertise as the highest risk group in category A. On October 10, A1 + spoke about the issue and heard the residents' alert.
