From now on the programmes of BBC radiostation will be broadcasted on "Impulse" radiostation / 106,5 frequency range / at 9:00 AM for half an hour . Today Timothy Johnes, the Ambassador of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to Armenia and Garik Khumaryan, the head of "Impulse" radiostation held a joint press conference to announce it.

During the 6-month-long negotiations BBC concluded a year-long agreement with "Impulse". The programmes will be in Russian and are planned for the countries of Caucasian region.

BBC is broadcasted in Azerbaijan as well, but in Azerbaijani. Mr. Johnes says the reason is that BBC's audience in Azerbaijan is bigger than in Armenia . "This is mere economical problem and there's no need to regard it as political" . According to the Ambassador, Armenia may hope BBC to be broadcasted in Armenian if the financial state of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain improves.

The British side assumed financing for broadcasting. "If we raise a question like this now, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will prefer to shut down the Embassy of Great Britain to Armenia and broadcast BBC instead" ,- Timothy Johnes stated.
