Armenians in France 'ahead of' Turks and Azeris (video)

Emmanuel Macron’s victory in the presidential elections in France has strengthened the position of the Armenian community in that country, says co-chairman of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France Murad Papazian said. Local Armenians were fighting in two fronts - for the resolution of the Karabakh conflict in favor of the interests of Armenian people and against Ankara’s genocide denial policy. Around 100 diplomats work in the Turkish Embassy in France, and there are more than 30 diplomats in the Azerbaijani Embassy. However, the Armenians are leading. Our fight has yielded its results. The ambassadors of Turkey and Azerbaijan have been recently dismissed in France,” Papazian stressed. He says issues concerning local Armenians were discussed during a meeting with President Macron. “As an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country France can have its direct influence on the Artsakh issue but its position depends on the United States and Russia. Despite its pro-Armenian position, let us not forget that not everything is decided by France. If Turkey and Azerbaijan work very well and we get weaker, we will lose everything if we stop working actively,” Mr. Papazian said in conclusion.
