Stabbing in Abovyan Street, suspect arrested
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on stabbing committed in Abovyan Street on May 3. In the result of urgent investigatory actions the motive was found, the person having committed the apparent crime was identified. On May 3, 2017 at 21:10 a call was received from University hospital N 1 of Yerevan informing that S. Ohanyan, born in 1987, with cut-pierced penetrating wound on the abdomen was taken to hospital. On the same day a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures it was found that the injured had sustained the bodily injury with a cutting-piercing item during the argument that took place near the shop operating in Abovyan Street. Pursuant to initial data, the injured and the suspect provide private taxi service and park their cars mostly in Abovyan Street, Yerevan. On the day of the incident – on May 3 at about 20:30 a row erupted over violating the customer service turn during which the injured sustained a heavy bodily injury. The suspect was arrested. Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to find all circumstances of the argument. Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
