Avedis Kalpakian, an Armenian alpinist from Beirut, has climbed Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Western hemisphere located in western Argentina, which stands at 6962 meters above sea level. “I am back on top of Aconcagua, five years later. This is an extremely difficult climb that starts at 5960 meters. It took about 10 hours and the descent required another 4 hours,” Kalpakian wrote on his Facebook page. Avedis Kalpakian has already conquered the highest peaks in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Australia. Mount Everest (8848m), the highest mountain on Earth in the Himalayas of Asia, still remains unconquerable for him.
