Concert dedicated to 110th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich (video)
The Aram Khachaturian Trio started the new season with a concert dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich, a Soviet composer and pianist, and a prominent figure of 20th-century music. Armine Grigoryan, the pianist of the trio and director of director of Aram Khachaturian House-Museum, says it was a difficult choice to make because each work of the composer is a musical gem. “Shostakovich, Prokofiev and Khachaturian were called the three titans of Soviet music,” said violinist Karen Shahgeldyan.
