SCIENTISTS ANGRY OVER THE GOVERNMENT FAILURE TO PAY THEIR SALARIES
Support A1+!Armenian research workers gathered today by the Building of the National Academy of Science demanding their salaries for 5 to 9 months. They are concerned about the attitude of the President of the Academy, Fadey Sargssyan. The fact is that only the staff of the Academy has no unpaid salaries.
There were demand to establish science funding new system on the meeting. Some of protesters called for Sargssyan’s resignation. Latter’s attitude is not clear yet while the government, on April 18, pledged to pay salaries for two months. Research employees consider this step of the government as a bribe. They don’t rule out that in case of their demands remain unsatisfied they will block Baghramian Avenue.
