WB REMAINS ADAMANT

Economy

World Bank representative in Armenian Roger Robinson said Tuesday that no credit would be given to Armenia until the power distribution network issue finds its solution.

While Robinson working at this position, 10 WB representatives have visited Armenia to negotiate with Armenian government on this issue. Mr. Robinson’s biggest worry, he said, is to calm backlash triggered by the network privatisation. In his opinion, the privatisation is inevitable.

Currently, WB representatives together with Armenian government are working on licensing documents and stocks sale. Robinson is convinced that after the documents are eventually set in order fuss over the network privatisation will fade.
