THE YOUNG ENTER ON THEIR DIPLOMATIC CAREER
Support A1+!Tigran Balayan, Shushanik Hakobyan and Stepan Kartashyan became the first young diplomats having sworn in upon passing a 6-month period of probation before starting their career. “I swear to serve faithfully the Republic of Armenia, Armenian people, abide and respect the republic’s Constitution and law”, said each of them at solemn ceremony of swearing.
Under new law all diplomats should undergo this procedure before engaging in diplomatic activity.
Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan said it would be fine already working diplomats who took their positions on top officials’ recommendations to go through the same ritual. The minister also said favouritism played no role in getting job in this area. Meanwhile, one of the young diplomats sworn in today is son of MP and Dashnaktsutyun party activist Kim Balayan.
Vardan Oskanyan is sure it will take about 25 years the young diplomats to become ambassadors.
He wished good luck and fruitful work to the beginners.
