DAVID PETROSYAN ELECTED THE NOR-NORK COMMUNE HEAD

Politics

On the threshold of the presidential elections the representative of “Orinats Yerkir” Party, seconding Robert Kocharyan, won a victory in the elections for Nor-Nork Commune head.

David Petrosyan, the Party representative polled 15754 votes in yesterday's elections and took the lead over his adversary, the acting Commune head Mkrtich Minasyan by 713 votes . 33.303 people – 36.7 % of the electorate took part in the elections.

Both Minasyan and Petrosyan competed in the elections for Commune head 3 years ago, too. Then David Petrosyan who hadn’t yet become “Orinats Yerkir” member, appealed against the election results in the Court but lost the case.

By the way, Mkrtich Minasyan, having headed Nor-Nork Commune for 6 years, was not either declared a winner as a result of the Court decision in 1996.
