ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY HOLDING ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Armenia’s foreign policy is to remain unchanged in 2003, Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan says.

Armenian Foreign Ministry’s staff and Armenian and chiefs of diplomatic representations carrying out their missions abroad started their third conference today. Oskanyan finds such kind of annual meetings a necessary step, as various problems emerge every year. To clear up some questions Finance and Economy Minister Vardan Khachatryan, Trade and Economic Development Minister Karen Chshmarityan and other ministers were invited to the event.

Head of Central Election Commission is present at the conference too.

Nagorno-Karabakh problem settlement, Karabakhi foreign policy, Armenia-Turkey relationship as well as economic situation in Armenia were discussed at the conference.

Issues related to approaching presidential election were also under discussion.

The conference is to be completed tomorrow.
