LOCAL GOVERNMENT BODIES ELECTIONS TO BE HELD SUNDAY ALL OVER ARMENIA

Elections of the heads of communities are to be held Sunday throughout the republic. Elections in Yerevan’s communityof Kentron, where two candidates – the current head of the community Ararat Zurabyan and his pro-governmental rival Gagik Beglaryan – are running for the leading post, expected to be most tense.

It is also hard to predict the results of the elections in the capital’s another community of Arabkir, where the community’s head-in-office Felix Yailoyan and the chief of the Yerevan municipality trade department Levon Harytyunyan are standing for elections.

Elections for the post of mayor are to be held in Gyumri, Gavar, Abovyan, Ashtarak, Kapan, Echmiadzin, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Artik, Jermuk and Berd.
