Politics

Armenia today got into non-standard situation and early election possibility isn’t be ruled out, Hanrapetutyun party leader Albert Bazeyan said Thursday in National Press Club. Bazeyan says Popular-Patriotic Alliance is to be created soon. In his words, opposition other activists can join the Alliance.

The issue of joint candidate so far wasn’t discussed, but the Alliance is believed to put its candidate for presidency, Bazeyan says. Answering the question about possible candidacy of former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Hanrapetutyun party leader said “some parties, collaborating with us are opposed to the idea and it makes him unable to be chosen as Alliance’s candidate”. Besides, Bazeyan is convinced the community isn’t ready to Ter-Petrosyan’s return. He dismisses the possibility of cooperarion with those political forces coming to some agreement with the republic authorities and acting as false opposition activists. Albert Bazeyan also expressed his view against outer impact on the process of new power building. “Nowadays, our government is controlled and strongly influenced by some offshore forces. New power building should be based on Armenia independence”, he said.
