CHANGES IN THE ELECTION SYSTEM

Politics

The Central Election Commision of Armenia heard 12 reports today. Majority of them were adopted unanimously.

The plank on "Establishing order for execution of the observers' mission" was changed.

Atrak Sahradyan, the Chair of Central Election Commission said henceforth the certificates of the foreign observers will be written in Armenian and English only instead of Armenian, English and Russian and those ones of the Russia's observers will be both in Armenian and Russian .

It was informed about the changes into the plank on "Establishing the order for inscribing the citizens without registration and those residing permanently or temporarily in the electorate lists" . I.e., in the past the registered citizens could participate in the election only in the polling stations of the region they reside in. From now on they can take part in elections in any of the polling districts if there is authorization of the commune head under the change made in the Election Law Code.

The issue on inscribing the non-registered citizens in the electorate list was not discussed . The order functioning in the past was adopted unanimously. Under that `order`, Internal Affairs bodies introduce the data on the citizens without registration to the election districts within a 3 day term .
