A court in Yerevan today studied in four hours the evidence in the case against opposition activists who were taken into custody on August 9, 2011, after a standoff with police in a Yerevan park.

While the indictment includes records about injuries inflicted upon police officers, there is no mention about the injuries of opposition activists.
Lawyer Stepan Voskanyan petitioned that the record about the aforesaid injures be attached to the case material.
The videos showed that the defendants had been subjected to violence and tortures," he said.

After watching the video defendant Davit Kiramijyan jumped up and exclaimed, "The video has been assembled!"

Prosecutor Hakob Martirosyan will announce the punishment for the activists during the next court session set for June 21.

Seven activists of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) were taken to custody after a standoff with police in August 2011. Six of them were later released on bail, with Tigran Arakelyan still remaining in custody.
