Haykakan Zhamanak's bank accounts put on hold
The Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service has seized the bank accounts of "Haykakan Zhamanak" daily, Anna Hakobyan, Director of publishing house "Dareskizb" told A1+.
Today the newspaper was to publish retraction of alleged false claims against three influential tycoons - Ruben Hayrapetyan, Levon Sargsyan and Samvel Aleksanyan and pay them a total of 6 234 000 drams in moral damages for an article published last year which MPs claim insulted their dignity.
On Wednesday afternoon, the newspaper published an article on the front page, denying the previous article that triggered the MPs' lawsuit.
Anna Hakobyan says the MPs will receive the money tomorrow morning. After the court ruled in favour of the MPs a fundraising campaign was organized to render financial assistance to the paper.
