Arriving in Yerevan “Pyunik” vice-president Karen Haroutyunyan gave the reasons of refusal to play with “Neftchi” at the press-conference.

At the beginning of the press-conference representative of the club Andranik Tsaturyan read the statement of leaders of “Pyunik”, which, in particular, says: “Last year despite the oral guarantees of the “Cooperation Cup” organizational committee “Pyunik” – “Neftchi” meeting passed with unpleasant incidents which could have unpredictable results both for the players and for the fans. After it had turned out that «Pyunik» and «Neftchi» were going to meet in the final, the leaders of the club turned to the organizers of «Cooperation Cup» immediately asling to change the format of the meeting or to give written security guarantees.

The reason was clear: even during the semi-final meetings threats were sounded by Azeri fans.

Karen Haroutyunyan noted that they held negotitions with RFU but didn't get any written guarantees. He also noted that security is a priority for them. «There's no need to politicize this question. We were present at the previous meeting and we realized what could turn out after the meeting. We needed guarantees not only inside but outside the stadium».

The Vice-president of «Pyunik» marked that they’re not going to appeal even if disqualified of «Cooperation Cup» games.
