ARMENIAN GRAND MASTER VLADIMIR HAKOBYAN PERFORMS WELL

Chess World Championship’s third round has already started. Vladimir Hakobyan is the only Armenian chess player who claimed a victory at the third round. He defeated Ukrainian grand master Alexander Moiseenko. Hakobyan will reach the forth round even in case of ending the second third-round game in draw.

His teammates Levon Aronyan and Ashot Anastasyan faced Pavel Smirnow and Alexander Belyawski at the third round and ended the games in draw.

Armenian Sergey Movsissyan who represents Slovakia in the championship was humbled by Veselin Topalov. However, he has chance to improve his ranking if wins his third-round’s return game.

Michael Adams, the tournament key favorite, continues moving ahead. He won his first third-round game with Moroccan Hich Khamdruc.
