In the 1st round of the open championship in Australia Sargis Sargssyan from Yerevan won towards Jonas Bjorkman by 6:2, 6:3, 6:1.
By 6:2, 6:1, 6:4 David Nalbandyan won for the 2nd time towards Ricardo Melo. Andre Agassi who is among the tournament favorites as well won by 6:1, 6:3, 6:4 to Todd Lerkham.
Sargis Sargssyan will compete with Todd Reddy in the 2nd round. They are meeting for the first time.
