SHELTERLESS FOR 17 YEARS
Support A1+!More than 200 families are shelterless in the Akhouryan community. This is a preliminary number, as a calculation of the shelterless is being carried out at the moment.
Up to now 601 families have bought houses in Akhouryan by the program of house-buying. 27 more families have got houses in 2004 from the building reconstructed by the Lince fund. This year no sum has been allotted for construction from the budget.
«We hoped for the program funded by the budget to be carried out by it is not foreseen in Akhouryan. But the governor of the region has promised to build living houses in the community with the sum got from the Lince fund and with other measures. We hope to have building of houses», Artsroun Igityan, governor of Akhouryan village told our colleague from TV company «Tsayg».
According to the governor of the village, in case of realization of any house program those families who have been living in the village since the earthquake will be the first to get houses. This year there is another program to support those families of the village community whose houses were ruined in the earthquake and who have got half-built houses now. They will be able to finish the building with the support of the government. The houses included in the program will mainly be those which are 50% finished. There are about 50 such houses in Akhouryan. As for the quantity of the houses involved in the program, it will be decided during the work of the committee.
