DEATH ACCIDENTS IN GYUMRI
Support A1+!On December 14 two citizens poisoned with carbon monoxide were found in Ani Block of Gyumri. The accident occurred in the 16th apartment of N 14 building of Trdat Chartarapet Street. Gassing asphyxiated 51-year-old Valentina Nalbandyan and a 32-year-old man. Under the preliminary information, they died at December 12 night.
Seeing no one coming out or going in the flat, neighbours broke the glass and found them dead inside. Residents consider the individual heating by gasification as the cause for such accidents. Vahan Poghosyan, head of Gyumri Gasification and Gas Supply Branch, commented the case differently.
He stated that the branch had received an application from the apartment owner on gasification and concluded a contract on inward house supply. A gas calculator had been located on the made papers but no right had been granted to let gas flow to the apartment since there had been no equipment.
Mr. Poghosyan asserted that the accidents mainly occur because of breaking the norms for technical usage of gas furnaces.
