DON’T CLOSE THE SCHOOLS!

Regions

The only Russian school of Dimitrov village of Ararat District is facing the danger to be ceased: ”Education and Science Ministry suggests that the Armenian school of the village joins ours. But if we agree to that, our school will finally lose its status”, school director Hayk Mkrtchyan says.

According to him, the fact will harm the Assyrian children in particular, studying in the school. ”The Assyrians mainly learn Russian as a foreign language”.

Now 282 schoolchildren study in the school. There are 15-20 pupils in each class. But the optimization program provides for 35 pupils in each class.

Director informed that he had appealed to the Education Department of Ararat District Office and Parliament but he hadn’t yet been responded to.
