Vladimir Zhirinovski said today in Strasbourg that Nagorno Karabakh decided to be a part of Russia voluntarily by signing Gyulistan treaty, What Armenia or Azerbaijan has to do with that?, he said.

In his words, Karabakh was to join to Armenia but was given as a present to Azeri communists by Soviet communists because they are interested in Azeri oil.

Zhirinovski thinks the CE will never solve the problem.

Look at long-lasting Cyprus-Turkey conflict, which has taken thousands of lives. Many have been killed in Karabakh conflict and major death toll is still ahead. The issue will remain unsolved long years.
