DO WE NEED THE LAW ON PRESS?
Support A1+!Seminar arranged by Fridrich Nauman Fund held. Those present expressed standpoints over press field. “No Law on Press is needed to regulate the press field” , Narine Mkrtchyan, Chair for National Press Club, is sure.
Yerevan Press Club representative Mesrop Harutyunyan is not against the Law on Press. But he assures no need to register Mass Media .
According to him, Armenian Authorities are no longer able to understand the article over misuse of speech freedom is to be eliminated from the Law on Press.
Boris Navasardyan, Head for Yerevan Press Club, thinks there isn't any Law in Armenia to support Mass Media development and progress .
Public figure Vigen Khachatryan is sure there is no social demand for Law on Press in Armenia. Nevertheless, Mr Khachatryan is for press activity to be regulated by Law.
German Mickael Link, Nauman Fund representative, states Law on Press is not the one for press restriction . He says the circulated bill on it is being grasped that way in Armenia.
He also informed there is no Law on Press in Germany, each region has its Law and Mass Media regulate keeping of sources by it.
Link as well agrees to press activity in Armenia to be regulated by Law . He reminded it to be the CE demand.
