GYUMRI MOURNS EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
Support A1+!Today, massive traffic jams clogged Gyumri’s roads, as the city population headed for cemeteries to remember those killed in the 1988 earthquake.
At 11:41 local time president Kocharyan arrived flanked by his retinue.
Other presidential candidates – Raffi Hovhannissyan, Stephan Demirchyan and Aram Sargssyan - were already on the site.
Without communicating with his rivals president-in-office went away followed by the whole retinue after laying flowers and pausing. Even the priest who was performing proper ritual joined presidential team. It seemed, everything has been done only for the president.
Some Gyumri residents came up to Kocharyan to tell him about their problems. The latter promised to solve the problems.
“Republic” party’s 50 members visited Gyumri cemetery as well.
