CATHOLICOS GAREGIN II PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS
Support A1+!More than 2,000 children are studying today in the Armenian Youth Centre. Armenian Apostolic Church is the only church in post-soviet territory, which transformed former Pioneer Houses into youth seminaries. The Church intends to open such a seminary in Echmiadzin. Priest Kharazyan says the Church failed in its intention while former mail was in office.
3 centres are already functioning in Armenia. There are charitable dining facilities affiliated to the centres where more some 200 elderly people dine 6 times a week. Every year on the eve of Christmas, Catholicos Garegin II gives 10,000 presents to the centres’ attendees.
The youth centres will mark their 10 anniversary soon. For this period, 267 people have been given jobs.
Each child’s tuition fee for 6 months makes only 3,000 drams.
