The new governing councils of the higher and postgraduate education law should be non-partisan. Rector of the Armenian State University of Economics Koryun Atoyan welcomes this fact. "Partisanship should not exist in HEIs, the education system. They are politicized as they make political programs, but belonging to a party is unacceptable," he says. 2018-2023 strategic development program of the Armenian State University of Economics was debated today at the Armenian State University of Economics. Today, the number of applicants is already a problem for universities. The 12-year education system gradually reduced the number of graduates. The number of ASUE applicants has dropped by half - 462, instead of 966 (last year). The Rector assured that they had thought and formed financial reserves in advance. Vache Gabrielyan, Chairman of the Management Board of the University, also took part in the discussion. "The Scientific Council has given instructions that the Rectorate will develop a strategic plan. In that program we will consider how to improve the quality standards, how to proceed with a more accurate assessment system, to upgrade the teaching staff and so on," he said. Former Deputy Prime Minister positively assessed the work of the current government. "I like the initiatives and enthusiasm, there is an energy there, and the government needs time. Two months is a very short period of time to make judgments about the government," he says. Vache Gabrielyan was offered to stay in the government, but he did not consider it appropriate. He welcomes that the current government continues to implement a number of previous programs.
