President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a first, historic summit in Singapore on June 12, 2018, BBC reports. President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un conducted a comprehensive, in-depth, and sincere exchange of opinions on the issues related to the establishment of new U.S.-DPRK relations and the building of a lasting and robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. Tramp said that he hopes the talks will succeed and he does not doubt that US relations with Pyongyang will be "shocking." Kim Jong Un added that they had to overcome many obstacles to meet. For about 50 minutes, the US and North Korean leaders talked separately (only translators were with them), after which parliamentarians and high-ranking delegates joined them. After the end of the summit, Tramp and Kim Jong Un came out with smiles and shake each others' hands. Later, answering journalists' questions, the US President noted that  "tremendous progress" had been achieved from the very beginning of the talks.
