Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II, prayed at the eternal fire. They did not answer journalists' questions. Only President Armen Sarkissian came to the journalists, congratulated and announced that today is the first day of the new republic. "Many things has changed in our country since yesterday. Today we have a new prime minister, the youth, the people have the hope that tomorrow will be better than yesterday." The President hopes that Nikol Pashinyan will justify the expectations. "Pashinyan is a talented person," says the Armenian President, adding that they have respectful relations and that he, as president, will invest in the government to succeed. Otherwise, the whole movement will become meaningless. Armen Sarkissian promises to do everything within his power to make laws be putted into practice. "Problems of injustice, corruption and prosperity should be settled by the new government, and the God will give the estimation of individuals." The RA President does not concetrate on the fact who has nominated and chosen him. He was elected on March 2 with 90 votes, 10 against and 1 abstentions. "My candidacy was nominated by the third president. I am ready to serve my country, if I serve well, then I am a good president, and if I do not serve well, then I'm not a good president. " Armen Sarkissian's impression is that Serzh Sargsyan is not going to leave the country.
