Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said during a press conference last week that by continuing protests we would have economic problems, tourists will not come to Armenia. Meanwhile, the picture is different in one of the hottest tourist destinations in Yerevan - Vernisage. Vernisage salespeople noticed that there is no shortage of tourists, everything is as usual. Tourists were aware of the situation in Armenia. "When I decided to come to Armenia, I did not have any information, I heard about protests only after arriving in Armenia. Although I was warned that protests might be dangerous, I do not feel any danger in everyday life," said a tourist. According to the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, in 2018, the number of tourist visits to Armenia in January-March amounted to 346,458, with 16.1% higher as compared to the same period last year.
