Today is 103th anniversary of Armenian Genocide
On April 24, Armenians and entire civilized world pay tribute to the memory of the victims of this monstrous crime against humanity, which killed more than one and a half million Armenians. Different actions are held in all the cities where Armenians live. The main event will be held in Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex in Yerevan, symbolizing both the loss of the victims and the revival of the nation. The massacres of Armenians started at the end of the 19th century. In 1892-1923, Hamidian Turkey and then the Young Turks mass deported and annihilated the Armenian population of Western Armenia, Cilicia and Ottoman Empire. Intelligence beheaded. On April 24 1915, 600 Armenian intellectuals were killed and exterminated in Constantinople, according to statistical data, the Armenian population of 66 cities and about 2500 villages were massacred in the Ottoman Empire, about 1.5 million people. 2350 churches and monasteries were robbed and destroyed. 1,500 schools were destroyed. In 1919-1920, the size of the damage caused to the Western Armenians by the Paris Peace Conference was 14 billion 598 million 510 thousand franks and 4 billion 532 million 472 thousand franks to the Eastern Armenians.
