Human rights organization condemns violence against journalist and hinders their work At about 11:30 am, on April 20, 2018, a high-ranking police officer (colonel) struck the journalist several times and detained him on Abovyan-Yerevan highway. The journalist introduced himself and showed his journalistic badge. Let us remind that the journalist, who was subjected to violence, is Tirayr Muradyan, who was beaten by police officers wearing civilian clothes yesterday. The fact of the violence was recorded on the radio station's live broadcast. Against a legal arbitrary non-governmental organization condemns the police officer's violance towards the journalist and calls on the prosecutor's office to immediately launch a criminal case against the policeman. It should be reminded that the hindrance of journalist's professional activities and the use of physical violence against him are punished by the Criminal Code.
