Call to RA police to not make statements that do not correspond with reality
"My Step" and "Reject Serzh" civic initiatives, with the support of Armenian citizens, have been carrying out nonviolent civil disobedience against the nomination of Serzh Sargsyan as prime minister for days. The denial of violence is a principle for the initiative and has been repeatedly stated that we also exclude the act of violence against the violence. The statements made by the RA Police that the organizers of the initiative lead the participants to various anti-legal actions does not correspond to the reality. The organizers and participants of the movement do not practice violence and will never use it, and all those who instigate such acts or violence against anyone are not participants of the action. We urge the Police of the Republic of Armenia not to make statements that do not correspond with the reality, and not to make ungrounded accusations against the organizers of the gathering, to ensure the peaceful disobedience of the action participants and to be consistent in identifying the real provocateurs and the people who use violence, and punish them according to the law.
