New materials prepared against Zhirayr Sefilyan (video)
Yesterday on investigator of the Investigative Committee working on important cases informed Zhirayr Sefilyan's advocate that materials were being prepared for Zhirayr Sefilyan's recent speech, advocate Tigran Hayrapetyan told reporters today. "In his last speech, Zhirayr Sefilyan only predicted that soon the Armenian people would be reunited, there was nothing that could lead to criminal prosecution or preparation of materials." Tigran Hayrapetyan presented the journalist Zhirayr Sefilyan's reaction related to this information. "They want to silence us, it is impossible to silence us, and the current regime does not have the resources to turn Armenia into North Korea, so, it will pass away soon. It's clear that these are actions of agony." "During ten months Zhirayr Sefilyan had no opportunity to speak up, he was not even allowed to say his last speech, he read it during the defender, and it turns out that materials are being prepared and the person may be subjected to criminal liability for reading the text." The advocate also noted that according to the legislation, the decision was to be sent in five days, three weeks had passed but there was still no decision sent. "During ten months, Zhirayr Sefilyan did not have the opportunity to express himself, even though the latter did not allow him to speak, the last word was read by the lawyer, and it turned out that the materials were prepared for reading the text and the person could be subject to criminal liability." Touching upon Karo Yeghnukyan, Tigran Harapetyan said that the court had appointed an expertise to find out whether Yeghnukyan could participate in the court sessions or not. "In his case courts, the prosecution, the expert authorities maintain a criminal silence; there has been no response to many motions." Tigran Hayrapetyan forsaw that it might be found out according to the conclusion that Karo Yeghnukyan had no health problems. "It will mean that he has been pretending during these 5-6 months. If there is such a conlcusion it will mean that courts and the prosecution aim at killing Karo Yeghnukyan by imposing psychological pressure on him."
