The four-day military exercises of the Armenian and Artsakh aggregate troops were held in the southeastern part of Artsakh. The main task was to prepare and conduct an attacking operation. "The military doctrine of the armed forces is defensive, but it includes defensive, offensive and counterattack operations, as one cannot defeat the adversary with only defensive protection. Those who will try to break the borders of either the Republic of Artsakh or of the Republic of Armenia, this group is intended for them in order to attack and destroy the adversary," said Movses Hakobyan, Head of General Staff of the Republic of Armenia. These troops were formed just four months ago. The exercise was not planned. It aimed at checking whether the re-formed military units were capable of fighting, or not. "We need a well-trained individual soldier, but our ultimate goal is to have a harmonious subdivision, as no one can win separately," said Movses Hakobyan. Both the ground and air weapons were used in the exercises with a few hundred units of equipment. Thousands of soldiers from different subdivisions participated in the same tasks. According to the Commander of the Unified Forces, such a large-scale military exercise, co-operating with each other, took place for the first time. "Military art is always to be improved, military exercises should not be based on the previous war or clashes. As the army is a developing organism, it develops at all stages, and during maneuvers and daily routines," said Tigran Parvanyan, head of the united military unit. A few days ago, separate armies of Azerbaijan, including Nakhijevan, held a large-scale military exercise. The exercises were conducted under the slogan "Passing the adversary's attack and shooting back." "i should say that it is good that they conduct military exercises. When they have an army, they should exercise it. It is very important our adversary to be strong so that we win a strong adversary, and not a weak one. That is their business," said Movses hakobyan. During the conventional war, the work of media representatives was also been reorganized. "The four-day war in April showed that we, the mass media, had our gaps. It is also important that journalists also have combat readiness. Soldiers safety is the most important thing. No matter how much the media tries to cover the news first, the most important thing for me is the soldier's safety," Knar Manukyan, journalist of Zhokhovurd newspaper told A1+.
