PM receives Deputy Chairman of Belarus National Assembly House of Representatives

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received a delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Co-Chair of Armenia-Belarus Inter-Parliamentary Committee Boleslav Pirshtuk. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the results of the 10th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee in Yerevan will help strengthen bilateral political and economic relations. Highlighting the importance of economic cooperation, Karen Karapetyan noted that the bilateral trade turnover is at a low level and added that the two governments are considering a set of specific steps and projects that will help boost the Armenian-Belarusian economic ties. The Premier said he would appreciate the involvement of Belarusian capital in Meghri’s free economic zone. Karen Karapetyan made a point of cooperating with Belarusian partners in implementing agricultural machinery, elevator production, agricultural processing, transportation and other projects in our country. The head of the Armenian government underscored that the Armenian side is prepared to create the most favorable conditions for Belarusian businesses. Boleslav Pirshtuk described the proceedings of the 10th sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee as quite effective. He advised that the sides had agreed to set up working groups that would work in different spheres in a bid to promote continued development of the Armenian-Belarusian relations. The Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly attached importance to the promotion of economic ties, and in this regard, considered it necessary to launch direct air flights and set up joint ventures. Boleslav Pirshtuk expressed conviction that the two countries enjoy great opportunities and potential for the development of cooperation.
