Paruyr Hayrikyan can organize a referendum only after April (video)

On November 20, Paruyr Hayrikyan, chairman of the opposition National Self-Determination Union (NSU) Party of Armenia, started a hunger strike outside the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) building, and in protest of the “unconstitutional actions” by the CEC. The NSU leader wished to hold a signature campaign to organize constitutional amendments, and he had petitioned to the CEC on this matter. And a referendum will be possible only after the signature collection of 200 thousand citizens entitled who have the right of voting. "The constitution clearly states that the norms fixed by the Constitution will come into force from the day when the newly elected president takes office," says Tigran Mukuchyan.
