Gevorg Safaryan says that injuries are caused by falling
Today, the HCAV has issued a statement, according to which yesterday evening an alert was received that Gevorg Safaryan, member of the New Armenia political union, convicted of his political views, was beaten by his cellmates at Nubarashen penitentiary. On the occasion of the Department of Public Relations of the Penitentiary Service of the RA Ministry of Justice informed that G. Safaryan spoke to the staff of the institution, saying that the injuries found on his body had been the result of fainting and falling in his cell. Nevertheless, materials are being prepared in Nubarashen penitentiary to clarify the factual circumstances of the incident, Department of Public Relations of the Penitentiary Service of the RA Ministry of Justice reports.
