Stubborn Italian boss has not spoken to Swedish wife since Friday’s World Cup play-off defeat

A worried Italian boss has not spoken to his Swedish wife since her country beat the Azzurri 1-0 in Friday’s World Cup play-off first leg.

Genoa manager Davide Ballardini claims she has been taunting him ahead of tonight’s second leg at the San Siro.

Now Ballardini has decided all is NOT fair in love and war.

He told Italian newspaper La Repubblica: I haven’t talked to my wife since Friday.

“For days, she’s been telling me, ‘you’re scared, huh?’

“The Swedes have enjoyed putting us in these conditions at this early stage, seeing us suffer, but we hope that’s all they’ll be happy about.”
